Xochimilco Glossary

Here is the Glossary about this theme.


\ Chinampa:  Mehtod of Ancient Mesoamerican Agriculture which used small, rectangle-shaped areas of fertile arable land to grow crops on the shallow lake beds in the Valley of Mexico.

\ Axolotl: The best known of the Mexican neotenic mole salamanders belonging to the Tiger Salamander Complex.

\ Endangered: In imminent danger of extinction; “an endangered extintion”.

\ Crowded:  over filled or compacted or concentrated

\ Trajinera: mexican canoe.

\ Sightseer: A tourist who is visiting sights of interest.

\ Wetter: One that wets.
